If you ever thought rap was dead, get in board with this song and allow it to prove you wrong. Hip hop is alive and well. In fact, it’s thriving now more than ever, we have all these new acts emerging and killing it, if I may say so, and judging from this song, rap is here to stay.
Cheese is a moody ode that easily stimulates one’s “trap centres”. What I mean is this song will effortlessly convince you to skrrrt up on them haters in a drop top or something similar over the top.
If there’s a lesson we’ve learnt from most Hip Hop jams (ones that actually make it to radio), it’s that “you always give the people a catchy chorus they can easily vibe to”; this is a feature that was certainly implemented in this song. Cheese is not only moody, its moody-entertaining (so basically its double-entertainment). To top it up the whole squad came through with their best performances yet (according to me, obviously). It’s like the bars naturally came to them like they needed not to try too hard. Obviously, the song is not perfect (but then again what song is). Obviously, there’s room for improvement.
If you were to remove a single verse from Cheese, we’d remove you instead. This is a Beatsmith production and you never, ever sleep on Beatsmith production.
Quotable bars:
Flow so sick, I’ll make you sick...,
All black Honda, that’s my fit…,
Passionate about innumerable things in life with photography, animals and music being just some of them. I have a knack for socialising and convincing people to try new music as I enjoy (almost) every genre. “Music is the epitome of all arts, and so we listen!”
