The energy possessed by Valee Music’s “Watora Moyo” is so potent, we can all envision a near future where she is a fully established music entity. The song is essentially what coming back home would sound like, but with a few tweaks, that make one feel as though they never left. “Watora Moyo” is a receptacle bursting with everything we require from an Afrobeats jam, and in all honesty, how can it not, especially with a production by the wave-making Charlie Kay? Regardless of the almost jejune lyrics on the chorus, the entire song is as moving as it is bouncy. And that’s all you need to concern yourself about.
Bulawayo-born Valerie Sibanda is on her way to being a household Afrobeats name overseas, and she seems to have all the right backing in her corner, including the likes of Gemma Griffiths (who also produced this song’s video).
We’re all rooting for her!
