Seeing Zimbabwe’s finest come together in a larger than life collaboration is always a sight for sore eyes. And it’s even more gratifying when their project is not gaining traction only because of who they are, but also because of actual mastery and genuine ‘slappery’. “Ginde”, with its dark and moody production, is the ultimate hustler’s anthem and with the current dream-asphyxiating atmosphere, it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Asaph also goes onto to fire in the comments section of the song’s aflame music video; “We’re the leaders of this genre, we have the torch now bro…let’s run with it”, and honestly, where’s the cap? Nowhere in sight!
Amid the whole “getting what you want, whatever it takes” sermon, Crooger even addresses the people-pleasing pandemic that’s ravaging our society in his semi-rapid rap fashion that really grows on you. But then again, considering their individual statuses, the song should’ve been grander! However, the highlight of “Ginde”, hands down, no contest, has to be Asaph’s verse; he honestly had no reason for going that hard!
This write up would be incomplete without a shout out to Ti Gonzi as well, for coming through in his original format, essentially making sure the song’s audience really expands.
